Women’s Policy Forum of Tarrant County

Vision: Women leaders building a better Tarrant County

Mission: Women’s Policy Forum of Tarrant County is an organization of influential women who investigate and support policies and initiatives that will create positive change for Tarrant County women and our community.

Support: Women’s Policy Forum Foundation raises and distributes funds to support the mission of the Women’s Policy Forum and raise community awareness of issues impacting women and children.

Membership: More than 125 Tarrant County women who are elected officials or who hold staff or volunteer leadership positions in government, business or the nonprofit sector are members.

Purpose:

  • Increase the visibility of women leaders.
  • Foster relationships with those in leadership positions.
  • Assist our local communities, county and state in agenda-building.


Programs and Services

  • Education and networking opportunities for members
  • Public policy education and civic engagement
  • Research on public sector trends and issues
  • Agenda-building on emerging issues


Goals of the Women’s Policy Forum:

  • Annual Emerging Issues Symposium
  • Offer educational programs and networking opportunities about emerging issues related to policies impacting women and our community.
  • Monthly program meetings often featuring a policy area.
  • Advocacy Deep Dive discussion on current events, quarterly.
  • Networking at summer social and holiday gathering.
  • Support educational and agenda-building opportunities for women.
  • Mentorship program with high school students at Young Women’s Leadership Academy.
  • Web page, Group and Public Facebook, Instagram and more.
  • Build bridges with other organizations to promote educational programs and agenda-building to increase partnerships and exchange ideas.
  • Program partnerships with World Affairs Council, Leadership Fort Worth, Women’s Hispanic Network, Dallas Women’s Foundation and others.
  • Fort Worth Sister Cities International Exchange of Women/WPF with a Sister City (Toluca, Mexico in 2015-2016.)
  • Advocacy with elected officials.
